The 'Editor's Forum' is a way of bringing together
professionals and amateurs engaged in the process of
publications, print or online, in the field of geospatial
technologies and their applications. Historically, crisis
has many a times given birth to forums, where people
have come and shared their thoughts and collate effort
to achieve common objective. The media professionals
from the geospatial domain will look into the issue of
media scrutiny of large scale projects, upcoming
technologies and research, with the larger objective of
growing the usage and awareness of their benefit
amongst the masses. The forum will also delve into the
need of 'standards' and 'ethics'. The journalists can also
discuss the relevance of creating a 'Geospatial
Journalist Forum', which can be supported and
managed by the journalists of the community.
STUDENT’S FORUM
Our industry today has an acute shortfall of welltrained
and motivated minds who can take up
challenging assignments. Many a times this is due
to the lack of communication between the industry
and the academia. To bridge this gap, a gathering
of graduate and postgraduate students from the
geospatial technology and its applications will get
to meet and interact with the industry. An open
house session on future career options in
upcoming fields from the geospatial domain is
planned.
