Convergence of different technologies is becoming
commonplace with the ever-growing interoperability
between different technological platforms. The most
significant example of convergence is seen in the
geospatial industry wherein advances in software
development has started a chain reaction in the field of
mapping, charting, graphic and photographic arts. This
has resulted in acquisition of superb satellite imagery,
refined digital maps, high-altitude and orbital data
collection, and extensive data analysis techniques,
many of which were unavailable some years ago.
Geospatial Industry, considered to be an enabler for the
many vertical application segments, provides an
immense opportunity for lateral convergence with other
co-existing technologies and also facilitates vertical
fusion through the application domain technology. This
plenary session would explore the upcoming
developments that would further aid convergence in the
geospatial industry, making things easier not just for the
professionals but the geospatial industry as a whole. |
